(2/2)
It is a good idea to play it, even if your deck loses to most of the other classes since they are under represented.
On the other hand, a deck that wins against everything but hunter is not a viable choice.
@Victor:
Meta is not being forced to play "the right way", it is about winning about most of the decks of the current environment ("the meta").
For instance, if you play in a tournament where 75% of the decks are hunters, if your deck has an extremely favorable matchup against this is a good idea
@Greener: Are you the new daily shitposter? "Goodbye, you Mexican refugee." Has a nice ring to it. Much better than that old DOTA 2 one.
Nice comic. Joke is understandable without knowing anything about game too.
Don't see how Alek is stupid by not knowing about stuff like meta and synergy. I mean, I know the words, but don't know their meaning in application to some games either. It's specific knowledge.
I don't play Hearthstone and I liked this strip :)

@Victor: I agree. There's been too much focus on everyone being "the best player ever" that the fun of playing online is lost.

@Bindal: So do Alek (legendary rank). Well… "so did she", maybe? Until this issue I saw her as smart but very naive girl

@Scryer: Russian language has is/was/were but doesn't use former. Really problem, that Russian has only 4 tense: past, present, future and infinitive :(
Y'know, I wonder if Greener knows that peoples interests change over time? Or that they're entitled to their own opinions, ones that aren't shared by said obnoxious little twit. Wait, what do you mean he's swearing off the comic?
… Okay people, I think it's safe to break out the champagne.
@Bindal: And even then, he does amazingly well when his native tongue has no words for 'the', 'is' and a few other commonly used English words I can't remember what they are.

A 5/1 for 3 mana... The Magic player in me goes: "Well... If you can have it attack right away or somehow have a means to make it survive, I could use that... But for the rest, a 5/1 vanilla for 3 is pretty shit. Actually... It would need trample too..."

@Arthur Li: Ironically, the TF2 Heavy is actually pretty smart - he's just rather bad at english. A good proof is "Meet the Heavy" - he doesn't appear to bright in the english dub but appears normal in the russian (And according to Poker Night, he even has a PhD in russian literature.)

@Raxyz: The joke he missed in that comic, sadly, was that 60% chance to hit in a video game for you is really closer to 30% chance to hit.
The joke of course being that card synergy is something you try to avoid in hearthstone. The most synergy you'll see are two cards interacting in a special way, like sylvanas and SWD
Where are the crybabies telling they didn't understood the joke?
Anyways, making a deck for Alek is simple: raw damage. Someone once said "I have this golden rule in tactical games: The best crowd control is nuking the enemy to oblivion." http://www.nerfnow.com/comic/900
This comic is understandable, maybe outside the Magma Rager part. All of the components are there : setting (card game), good player trying to teach bad player, Aleks obliviousness, Morgans mental breakdown. Anyone can understand it even if they don't play Hearthstone. +1
Like other people, I thought that Alek was being portrayed as overly stupid in this comic. But then I realized that she's suppose to be the female version of Heavy, and it kinda justify her being an idiot (albeit a lovable one).

Oh Alek. We love that cute, innocent, obliviousness but behind that cuteness is a raging beast. Alek has to be my favorite of the 4. She doesn't get much screen time but seeing her is just so adorable.

Okay... how did Aleks get with that little knowledge about the game to LEGENDARY RANK?
@Victor: It's not just multiplayer, it's anything with a sufficient level of difficulty that drives you towards the most effective solution.
Simulators, RPGs and Tower defence often have the same things except unlike in multiplayer games where the meta shifts, it's static and eventually gets dull
I think the whole concept of meta is one of the most reasons why I don't like multiplayer games.
Being forced to play "the right way" it's been always too much for me.

Yeah, I agree. We see who are Morgan and Jane. Anne has some character development (at least, now). But Alek… I like her-in-my-head, but I don't understand what type is she.

Like begets like. If you're worried about negativity perhaps you should stop being such a retard.
@GK: He's probably butthurt about what Obama is doing with illegal immigrants.
In other news, Alek totally reflects my Dota 2 play style. ... That's bad, isn't it?
