Rate of fire usually also affects rate of staggering a target. That alone makes a SMG worlds dfferent from a pistol, and is often why the SMG is more costly in any given FPS
@Ancel De Lambert: Let me say it again. It can be beaten in one sitting. If you want to do absolutely fucking everything through 30 playthroughs, then yea it will take multiple days if not weeks.
P.S. People can have fun in a single playthrough of a game.
I think you owe it to yourself to play both; each game is excellent in it's own way, and they both have fantastic animation, just with different styles.
Also: I never thought I'd ever see a comic with both those characters in it together, but I ain't complaining!

On the other hand, maybe she sees this as a chance to draw bad things happening to Shantae while she lets out a villainous cackle.
... I don't get why Jo thinks Bioshock 1 is a bad game. It's got story, moral choices, a plotline, and the 7 guns, wrench and camera don't feel all the same.
Also the plot twists are fun... or not seen coming if you haven't played or read up the game before.
Shantae wins, of course. In Half-Genie Hero, Shantae turns into a ninja.

The large number of collectables, challenges, and organic encouragement to attempt different playthrough styles gives the game insane replayability. No kill runs, ALL kill runs, all alert runs, all hidden takedown runs, etc etc.
YAY, glasses are back! If they are just for reading (or drawing, or using her PC, or anything else that requires her to look at things up close) then I think that's a nice balance, since she can keep them off the rest of the time. Also, YAY, Shantae! ^_^
I bought Mark of the Ninja, and I was blown away by how good it actually was. Like, I knew it was mechanically sound but the actual story blindsided me.
@Chessrook44: I didn't put the shotgun or minigun in the list thou, the mini has a spin-up and the shotgun is for close combat.
All others I just stay at range and aim for the head.
Likewise, a faster-firing-lower-damage SMG is for those who have poorer accuracy and just want to hold down the trigger, while a lower-firing-higher-damage AR is for those who want more punch to more accurate hits. It's all about situation, feel, and personal preference.
Sure, the damage they do might add up to around the same, but the big difference is the situation you would use them in. You wouldn't use a shotgun against 20 foes 30 feet away, and you wouldn't use a minigun against 3 foes standing right in front of your face.

That's the main issue I have with Left 4 Dead 2. It's a great game, but since I don't like ARs, I'm stuck with either snipers or shotguns. The former has one variant that's pretty much always the better choice, and the latter's level 2's are almost identical.
Playing with the tiny SMG is definitely not the same thing as playing with the handgun or the carbine.
The SMG has no damage while the handgun can headshot/oneshot almost everybody.
The only problem is the amount of ammo you find, in the end only the SMG has ammo everywhere.
