I haven't played KF2, but I've played KF a lot, and never once was there anything about it that made me think of it as anywhere near "hardcore". The lack of crosshairs is prolly to keep it from being too easy to shoot hordes and to force players to actually aim, which I say is a good thing...
@RyokoSimon: There one huge fucking pussy here, but it's not TW. If you think theirs is bad, go read ones from Activision, Ubisoft or EA. They even created a topic in steam saying that this is only to cover their asses (as every company has to do) and that they only ever banned ONCE.
And KF2, like KF, is not a non casual game. You need a BIT of experience to survive normal and that's all. If you want to get more hardcore, there's other difficulty levels.
But hey, you're a vaccinated adult, play at what you want
about compet/casuals, the game is not competitive but the high difficulties do need some basic skillz, asshole competitive players struggle (those that dont bother playing "properly", got a few friends like that, never win with them unless I'm the last one alive).
I thought it was about killing floor 1 and killing floor 2, kf2 is milk since it gets casualized in several aspects (although the difficulty is still there, but its different). But after reading the actual reason, that's petty Jo, with crosshairs it loses the fun, just eat it.
Me and my friend used to troll hard in KF1, weld doors on pleps, block trader, pick their weapons and sell em if they die. ahhh good times, no in kf2 you DO ONE THING, INSTA REPORTED, team mate dies cos his shit, reports you for ''team griefing'' Also berserker is a piece of shit with no resistance
Tripware, KF devs, became huge fucking pussies, they can permaban you from KF2 if you do something "offensive", which is everything according to liberals.
Incidentally, I don't know who put it in your head that Killing Floor isn't for "filthy casuals". It's a non-competitive, team-based game where you fight against computer-controlled entities. Player-vs-Environment is basically the very model of "casual gaming", isn't it?
We get it. Killing Floor is not "your thing". Some of us think your reasons for that (no crosshairs (by default); only gun-sights, "ugly" graphics) are petty and think you could have fun if you actually gave it a chance, but you won't, so the "argument" is moot.
shooters are like chocolate
some are just boring and bland because they just add a ton of sugar instead of coco extracts
some, might be brands you weren't aware of, that feature a good amount of dark flavors and REAL organic ingrideants, that make the best shooters in a market clearly dominate
Hahaha, ok then Jo. Feel free to play whatever you feel like it. Sometimes we have to sound pushy since there aren't enough letters for us to express the way we want.
TL;DR You don't need to eat it, but don't say bad things about killing flavor! lol
@Shellhit: Oh, yeah. I used to play LoL, but I ended up quitting because of A: the toxic community and B: the fact that if I took a break for a couple weeks, so much would be added or changed I would have to relearn the meta. And if I don't know the meta, I get abused for it (See point A).
Personally I'm a huge Killing Floor fan, and there are a lot of guns which work well from the hip. The game does lack in-game crosshair unless you turn it on, but if you learn the aimpoint of the guns with a little practice, you'll find some of them are amazingly accurate without ADS.
I get what you mean about the lack of crosshairs throwing you off, Jo. When I started out, it really messed with my aim. It took me about two weeks before I was able to aim properly in Killing Floor. My solution? Play Sharpshooter. It forces you to have good aim, a sink or swim kind of deal. (Cont.)
Fine, whatever, don't learn how to shoot without crosshairs. But that imaginary kid you made up yesterday, who wouldn't play Sonic, because he's blue. Imma give that kid a swirly unto he turns blue. That's just childish. Everyone knows you don't play Sonic, because very few of his games are any good
See, this is what gets me about "competitive" gamers.
I play games for fun. Cause that's, y'know, kinda the entire POINT of games. So it confuses me when someone claims that I'm somehow not a gamer or that I'm a casual scrub because I haven't devoted my life to absolute mastery of a game.
I feel the same when I play Battlefield and my friend says; "Hurr durr BF is for pussies its just CoD with a few addons play Insurgent or Arma realism is better BF is for kids hurr durr." No thank you I'll stick to my game that I actually enjoy without needing to go in depth, because fuck that!
its about liking games that you like and other people who play EXTREME HARDCORE games being affronted by that very notion and demanding you like their extreme hardcore REAL game.
