@Censuur Except dragoons don't have blink AND their collision radius is larger, meaning fewer can fire on the same target and they're nowhere near as mobile. Plus the shield recharge after using blink is pretty sick considering it's useful whether you're blinking on top of a target or microing away.
@Censuur: Zealot does normal damage type in SC1, and dragoon explosive type, which does 50% vs small units. Think of it as 10 damage, +10 vs armored. So, depending on the unit you are against, it can be weaker than zealots, which does 8x2 damage vs everything.
@Christian Hansen: It's explained with the Protoss being a race of warriors, not a race of pilots, dragoons are also not so much "crippled" Protoss as they are Protoss on life support, a zealot is also technically stronger than a dragoon in a straight up one on one (in SC1 anyway)
@BowlerHatMan: Dragoons are objectively superior in every way though, with more range and dps they do what you need a ranged unit to do far more effectively than stalkers, the main thing about them is that they don't die as easily while dishing out superior damage allowing a more stable core army.
Is it just me, or does it sound odd to only let your crippled population man those powerhouses?
I mean, imagine what a fully capable protoss would be able to do with that power.
I gave dragoons a go in one mission in LotV... went right back to using stalkers. Smaller collision radius, faster move speed, and blink just make them outright superior. Paired them up with the zealot variant that stunds on charge and facerolled the bulk of the campaign.
