@Xenozillex: I've had the exact opposite experience. I go into a job, expecting to remain my antisocial self, and end up leaving with more friends than I can deal with. Granted, I live in Minnesota.
I've worked many jobs over the years and 1 true fact is no one thinks your job is as hard or as important as theirs. It doesn't matter what you do. A NASA engineer could be talking to a construction worker and they will both feel superior to the other in some way.
LoL OMG Jo, I actually am a Janitor, at a retail place, so like I'm not a pro, but I mop spills, clean bathrooms (not when I can get out of that. It's super easy but it's just monotonous and people whine that you're cleaning them whine when they're dirty...) It's a decent easy job.
I've learned friendship and business are mutually exclusive. Especially when the manager has to look out for the company as a whole and the employees are worried about the next day as it relates to themselves, and overall, thats the way it should be.
I work as a janitor and I do agree with Angie on that one. Without a janitor, shit would hit the fan, fast. It's a thankless job but someone's gotta do it.
