Don't try to think too hard about today comic... if you played Protoss a lot you knew there was never enough Pylons for your ever growing army. You may complain and bitch but in the end, you make the damn Pylons, just to need more few minutes later...
I am making an effort to finish at least one of Guild Wars campaigns but this only made some GW flaws more glaring...
Everything needs a party to complete, and having a bad party is as bad as playing alone, if not worse.
After a while, as your patience with bad player grow thin you naturally develop tactics and builds to party only when needed. Eventually lots of experienced players learn to do everything "solo" and only party for the hardest missions.
My PvE experience with Guild Wars was mainly a solo experience... this wasn't something I pursued but more a natural process which developed naturally.
