I actually bought some of the Mega Construx licensed Destiny sets, and I thought that at least I should buy the game as well so I had some idea about what was going on. Listening to some people talk about the games, I get the sense that I shouldn't bother...
As always, more and more pay-to-get extra content is being added more and more and more to games, and the community keeps accepting it instead of making a stand. We're fùcking ourselves, and most are even HAPPY about it. Have fun in 20 years from now...
I feel this would be a better metaphor for Battlefront 2. Destiny has it's engrams, but they aren't pay-only. Basically get one with every level once you hit level cap, thankfully.
Won't get Destiny 2 until Bungie publicly apologizes for the pile of shit that they called Destiny 1, gives me a full refund and gives me a code for Destiny 2 as compensation.
@Viredae: Also you have time unlimited free trial on FFXIV now. You are limited in a bunch of things like max lvl 35, not being able to create parties (but being able to join) etc but you can try most classes in the game without paying a cent.
Don't buy, given that you'll be banned for the simplest of things. Like recording your gameplay, or talking with your teammates on discord.

Honestly, just putting a (slightly) cheaper game at 40$-50$ upfront and then charge for a monthly subscription like what FFXIV does would be fine, but the whole way they're going about it is both confused and asinine, not to mention making them look bad.
