Blue a-hole simply don't give a shit. They'll let cheaters play a few games and ban them after they've made a profit on the market(which benefits BA). This makes them buy a new copy (which benefits BA) and the cycle repeats forever.
Fortnite has already been hitting cheaters heavily. Going as far as bringing legal action towards those who were using and supplying the cheats. (they got away, since they were underage), but Epic does not screw around.
@Ellis Warner: I mean that's probably less because they want to prevent hackers and more because Nintendo just hates the concept of emulators more than some people hate being stabbed.
Fire Emblem Heroes is F2P but Nintendo has brought the hammer down on hackers and scammers. They shadowbanned a bunch of folks way back, and they release almost weekly updates which makes it hard to keep up with for emulators and stuff.
You forgot financial incencitive. There is money in drops trading etc. That's why people want china to have their own servers. Though Brendan green sure enjoys the recurring sales of the game after trimming a few hackers.
I remember doing that when I had a wow private server, I don't mean hacking, on rare occasions when I saw some people having a conversation I did an obviously not them(had a command that I could make any character say anything) 180 comment which freaked people out xD
I was disappointed with PUBG, a great game, but full of hack, poorly optimized and with updates of 10 gb from time to time with little or no improvement, I will take the time and hope to improve certain aspects.
