I'd have no complain about ME2 wasn't by the Mineral Scan minigame.
It's not only boring, its boring, long AND necessary. Want to pimp your ship so you don't turn into Collector food? Good luck doing that with the measly refined minerals scattered through the missions.
You can try to do it as little as possible, and believe, I do, but this doesn't make the problem disappear, What I don't get is why on a narrative-centric game like Mass Effect which they took so many steps to focus on the gameplay they put something so bureaucratic. If they wanted to artificially inflate the game length by making you dump hours scrubbing planetoids for minerals, they could at least made it minimally fun.
It's almost as fun as seeing a progress bar load, but at least you can watch videos while doing it.
