Geralt came from a book, not a videogame, sure the games overshadowed the books and there are people who don't even know them or think the books came later, but still.
People seem to not realize that guys like Cloud & Joker have had appeared on Nintendo platforms before, albeit in handheld spin-offs. & thus they get the idea in their heads that literally anyone is open game regardless of prior Nintendo history.
