The corpses being people who would have given said smug remarks about goblins not being a big deal.

Also GS specifically never actually does this, going out and telling people to call him. Because he knows people are just going to be smug and underestimate the danger. He mostly just takes up quests and most of the time get there burn the whole place down with the corpses of the inhabitants.

The whole point of the goblin slayer story is that goblins are underestimated and not taken seriously because there are fucking demons and hellgates taking up all the more experienced adventurers time.
Therefore your entire joke falls flat on it's face by not understanding the concept.
