I'll take Kamala over goddamn Carol any day.

I dont mind Miss Marvel as a character but she was terrible as an Avengers, they kept having to make a spot or reason for her to be there, never felt like she earned or even wanted a spot. She would have been better on a teen team somewhere else.

@Aaron Chan: When people say about Hillary or Biden or whoever "I don't really like them but they're not as bad as Trump overall," I understand that. While I may not agree with them, it doesn't frustrate me. But that wasn't what Wilson was saying IIRC; she was more like "OMG isn't Hillary so great!"

It's the hyper-partisan environment right now that make people think politics has to be all or nothing, that if you disagree with some behavior of someone, then you have to disagree with all of them. This is not normal.
@Kilgore Trout: I don't see why that should be surprising. In a normal political environment, one could agree to some ideas of one platform while disagree with others. ex, The author could agree to what Hilary stood for for women while disagreeing with her party's work in the middle east.

@Rhuen Stone: Fair point about every character being new once. I mean, Hawkeye wasn't really important until he became an Avenger. But it seems that it's taking Ms. Marvel longer to catch on with fans than it took Hawkeye, and if so then Marvel is doing something wrong.

Considering how many Muslim civilians get killed by America's endless state of war, regardless of whether it's a Republican or a Democrat ordering the bombs dropped, one would think that a Muslim writer would not care for Hillary or anybody else who played a part in that. But I guess not.

@Aaron Chan: I agree, and I guess I'll be unwise and talk some politics. It seems like Marvel and most of the creators working there right now, either believe that the "kind of right-wing" party is actually perfect. I remember G. Wilson Wilson stanning Hillary Clinton once.

That said, yes Kamala really should be with the Young Avengers like Wiccan, Hulkling, Speed, and that lot. In the end though the game play and game mechanics is what kills games like this.
At some point every character was new. Including in the era of the video game market. Every Avengers game since the Arcade Cabinet has had that "who will we use" issue and try to push whomever is the most popular at the time or is a new character they are trying to push in the public consciousness.

Sorry man, but Kamala Khan is awesome. The game writers were just WAY too lazy to actually do something with her.

@Jorge Castro - Tanked since the first issue? No matter how "woke" Marvel is, she would not have gotten almost 6 volumes of a solo book (so far) if she wasn't selling copies.
Woke is so overused. It used to actually mean a specific criteria, not its just retard redneck for "Stuff that doesn't appeal to me".
"woke" is such as bad term, as it meant that those people are somehow progressive. In reality, American politics has always being kind-of-right-wing vs ultra-conservative-right-wing. At least, according to the rest of the civilized world.
@Micheal Arnold I mean, that's all well and good, but if the "people in their echo chambers" aren't making a enjoyable game using that character, then the game is going to fail. Hence the adage of 'get woke, go broke'. You can't succeed on token diversity alone. 4% success doesnt pay the bills.

get woke got broke

In a nutshell, nobody knows her outside of the comic, and people that know about her in the comics, hate her. So her comic tanked since the first issue.

She tried to be an example of freedom but finally, she is just a bigot character.

You all are forgetting the most common issue is its a comic book based game. These don't translate well most of the time. Superman 64, Catwoman, Batman Dark Tomorrow, X-Men Destiny, I could go on and on but I'd rather leave walls of text for reddit.

I would say more, but I still have my wisdom teeth:

@Adam Martinez: When I was still reading her book I liked her all right, but I don't care for the people who are writing her book. One more reason to hate social media: I got to see G. Willow Wilson and Saladin Ahmed's worst takes, and wound up arguing with and getting blocked by the latter.

So it is no wonder a whopping majority showed viedeogame Kamala Khan the middle finger - she is a nobody, the kiddo wants to play the Avengers.
Oh I forgot, the foam at your mouth needs support so...
...go SUPERWOKE go SUPERBROKE (96% broke! lol)

I love it when liberal snowflakes try to compare a videogame with a comic book.
It is like trying to compare a blockbuster movie or series with the book it is based on.
Face it - 99% don't know "Kamala Khan" besides hardcore comic book readers.
But every boy and his grandma know the Avengers.

Jo should do a comic about DC and how every year they push the reset button.

@Gunmetal Discord
Well, in your defense, its hard to keep track of which has-been publisher does what anymore.
@Michael Sypher Right, right, Square-Enix not EA. Sorry, I must've been having Anthem flashbacks.
You can bet that the people who are going "The game failed because -insert Middle-Eastern slur here-!", can count their teeth on one hand, specifically the one they lost a bunch of fingers to in a "Hold my beer and watch this!" accident.

Like, even back in 2017, Ms Marvel reached the #1 slot on marvels top sellers of trade paperbacks. Literally THE highest selling trade they had. "No-one" in your echo chamber may have liked her, but...
The actual problems of the game, lacking content, being overshadowed by vague accusations of "no one asked for a character like that, no-one outside of the hardcore echo chambers gives a crap".
Said by people apparently within echo chambers, not hearing people that DID enjoy her.
Giving the house that weeb trash built, the keys to making Marvel games was mistake 1.
No one wanted an Islamist mutant, no one asked for a character like that and as such no one cares about it. I quote, "Even among misfits you are a misfit".
I think the failure of the game is indicative of bigger problems going on at Marvel, particularly the fact that the higher-ups seem to be having a hard time realizing that no one outside of the hardcore echo chambers actually gives a crap about Kamala Khan.
You forgot the comically oversized hands. But yeah, the game was a train wreck and the main character is only the main character because she's the creation of some exec who gets a buck whenever they use her. 96% player loss doesn't lie.
The game looks nice, but it is very empty and lacks a lot of substance. In some ways it kind of describes current Marvel.

You have no idea who to blame, because while it looks nice it ultimately feels half baked at best.
It think the main reason is that people are just tired of the capeshit. Yes the hardcore fans are still there but for the average person, they have had enough with the superhero movies for a while now. Same thing happened with the Western movies in Hollywood, it's an oversaturated market.
They also could have spent a bit more money on bug testing and fixing their broke ass shit.
She's not the main reason the game sucks but marvel [mostly sana anamat] needs to stop pushing kamala so damn hard. When she dealt with street level villains while occasionally teaming up with a A lister hero it was fun, when the preachy bs started with civil war II and champions I lost interest.
They're owned by Square-Enix, not EA.
More likely that EA closes down the studio and we never get another Deus Ex game by those developers.
So... Now can we have a new Deus Ex now instead of this bxxxxxt?
