I remember when I use to try playing a game threw myself the first time. Then going threw the second with a strategy guide so I could get everything.
Sometimes a third with the (Insert cheating device for system here) if I really wanted to.
Arknights has this with Contingency Contracts, which comes around every few months and you get a special medal if you complete it on difficulty Risk 18 in the first week. You can always try to flex on Risk 20 or even 30 if you want to try hard... but rewards stop at 18, so.
Don't care about other people when playing a game. It is bought because I believe it will provide Me enjoyment. Leaderboards and equivalent are meaningless prattle as there is no way to confirm that X highest person did not cheat to get there.
I see this all the tine in games. People complain that hard is too hard but define themselves as hardcore players so they refuse to play easier difficulties. Goes well with thinking easy modes/difficulty options shouldn't exist at all because it cheapens their achievement. Often the same folks.
