Poor Steam-Tan

Spoiler: the guy isn't gamers, the guy is the steam admins. They don't seem to care to give us any sort of recompense...

Somebody got priorities. Sitll, I'd rather stay. XD

Then again I was never into the Oblivion series.

@ Cruel Logic: Nope. It's because she's old. Deal with it. You are wrong.
Cruel Logic
@Jansay I think she has gray hair because of the color palette Steam uses in its interface. You know shades of black and gray.
Jansay
@Cruel_Armpit yes, she is. Clearly the artist drew the hair white as a touch to the fact that Steam is older than Origin. But she's got to be attractive for visual purposes, hence the sexy look. Prove me right please, Joe.

I don't think Steam-tan was raped....I think it's better to assume she was robbed.....they kinda went after the monies

Pros to Steam

First! Half-Life 2!(episode 3 eventually) TF2! Hats!

Cons to Steam

Hats...

Pros to Origin

Cons to Origin

I think we all know my ultimate choice.

You know what's really nice about Origin? Something that Steam can never hold a light up to?

Origin's not popular enough to get hacked.
Kimura

I think he's been desensitized (or alternately, made more paranoid) by the Sony LulzSec Incident... I know it didn't affect me, prepaid cards FTW!

That reminds me: VALVE. STOP REFUSING THE STEAM FORUMS' CRIES FOR PREPAID CARDS. THE AMOUNT OF EXTRA MANN CO SALES WILL MORE THAN OFFSET THE COSTS.
Roam

A Pirate Bay-tan would be a busty pirate strumpet who is very experienced at tempting otherwise even-handed straight-collar fellows. Probably hounded by police orderlies, and an occasional source of STIs. Doesn't care about you, but is always up for a fling. Always breaking out of prison.
FoxyGrimReapess
I found it weird that I was able to play Left 4 Dead 2 on my PC before this happened. Afterwards, my L4D2 game just stopped trying to work. That made me really sad.
I'm glad everything else is just fine with Steam. Yay for Steam's own non-hating recovery. *Unlike a certain network's backlash*
Iceholder
Pirate Bay-tan would obviously be a buxom pirate. With a great abundance of booty.

Yeah, sucks what happened to Steam. If it had been EA, Actiblizz, or SOE, I would be up in arms. Steam, however, seems to give a damn about the consumer - and if not, they're damn good at faking it.
Wolfy

Joepro9950

That's hilarious. Quick question though. Is there any way you could add a 'random comic' button of some form? I don't know what that entails, but it'd be cool if you had one.
MrTT
This joke is inconsistent with the previous ones. When he was "playing games on" steam and origin earlier he was "with" the girl in question. And skyrim is currently only available online via steam.

Although, I am not sure how one demands skyrim sexy time from an injured anthro game client
Cattai

RoderickBR

@Sindri: I think the same. Their business model is great, because it has a low cost (no hard copy, so no discs, box, manuals, etc), so they can sell at lower prices and make promotions, attracting new customers and allowing older customers to buy more.
Tkun
@BowlerHatMan: Thinking about it PSN-tan was in shock/catatonic after being raped.
SRG
@Bill: My guess is Tim buckley known for "B^U" faces and over explaining the joke that and Copy paste art so much it makes doing so almost a crime.
Sindri
Overall it's clear that Steam has figured out that a good reputation and happy customers lead to more profit in the long run than scrabbling for every penny they can.
Sindri
They demonstrated that they have good security, and layering that prevents important things like credit card info from being breached instead of giving hackers full access as soon as they're past the first wall.
Sindri
I was impressed by their handling of the situation. They notified us immediately when there might have been a breach of our personal/financial information, no matter how unlikely it was, rather than trying to save face. They're still running at full capacity, unlike some systems I could mention.
Kiana
I still have trouble getting used to DLCs. I'm used to the days of just buying the ONE game and, sometimes, an expansion or two. 'Buy a couple armor sets!' 'Buy a map or two!' The whole micropayment thing is a hard transition, mostly 'cause I'm dirt poor.
Violence Jack
WTH are you people on? Skyrim gives me gosebumbs all over. Hell almost all Bethesda games do (bugs and crashes aside). Im exploring the game slowly just to increase my game time, so i can enjoy it more... Cant wait for DLCs to come out :D... Now if they make a new Fallout ill just die happy :D
Cruel_Armpit
Goddamnit people, Steam tan is NOT old! This is comics, it's perfectly normal for young attractive girls to have unusual hair colours!
Discrider
Realistically, all Steam tan needed to do was wash the new hair colour someone forced on her off, and secure her hats more carefully.
Discrider
Meh.

The hack was minor at best.

By the looks of it someone got hold of or created an admin account ON THE FORUMS, and then created some stickies advertising their hax page. As such the forum IDs and passwords were comprimised, not any actual Steam stuff.
Rodrick
If one is a female, then yeah, probably. Of course if one is not a disgusting she-whale. Because it's pathetic and sad. Male virgins are pathetic by definition.
Kiana
There's something wrong with being a virgin? Geez, considering the locals where I live, I thought being a virgin was a status symbol. A rarity! =P
Nirual
Like Roam said, this can happen to any company. It's how they handle it is important. They were open, honest, and immeditately took steps to minimize the possible damage. And they didnt need to take down the networks for like a month *coughPSNcough* to fix the issue.
lololololo
lol, this site is full of virgins.

That steam girl looks hot! <3
CoolHandNuke

Great job on this one, it really made me laugh. Also I love the Steam character. I just want to give her a big hug to make her feel better >.<
Kiana
Steam-tan doesn't look old! Look at her breasts. (Yeah, like I had to tell you to.) Zero sag. They are gravity defying. If she were old... =P
Roam
...and yeah, Steam-tan has something of an elderly look. It's just the nature of having lighter hair like that. Perhaps black streaks?

I remember a time when it was all green green green. Hmm, black with green streaks... :3c
Roam
A hack like that can happen with any company. They were prompt about informing us and didn't try to save face by covering it up. That's about the most we can expect.

In before we find out EA did it in an attempt to discredit the competition. Origin-tan, in the internet, with the hacking script...
Bill

Regal

It's okay, Steam-tan. You just tell us everything that was done to you. In great detail. And maybe with a few illustrations. You don't mind if we film this, do you?
Exorian
That was pretty much exactly my reaction. "My card number is still secure? Good, now excuse me -- Skyrim!"
Kiana
@Sushewakka: Toh may toh, toh mah toh. They consider customer happiness important, which is a lot better than a lot of companies I've had the displeasure of dealing with (up to and including my old bank) who just want money and will let you know they don't give a crap about you OR how you feel.
Sushewakka
@Kiana: More like, Valve realized happy customers are spending customers, thus they keep people happy so that they keep buying.
Kiana
Darn right, Crazy. EVERY company is in it for the profits, but Valve strikes me as one of the few companies that don't put profits ahead of customer happiness. Mostly.
Wraith
*Gives big hug to Steam tan*

When you get better, we can play Team Fortress 2 and Killing Floor if you want.

And adjust some of your settings ;)
That Crazy Person that M+1'ed you...
Well, sure Valve is in it for the profit, but at least far as I can see, they realize that when you at least TRY to be accommodating to your customers, they're more likely to give you their money. =p
Ekky

*hugs Steam-tan* Get better darn it.

Steam may be a massive monopoly, but at least it's run by Valve. And those guys I like.

@SRG: Except that Jo isn't a hack like Tim is. Okay, being fair. He has gotten a LOT better since then. But wow was he full of himself back then. Much more so than he is today.
SRG
@Tkun: So Steam transport to the Floating fortress is down. Those who didn't need it are still fine. Shame hackers are being peg a bad light in all this. When it's clearly Cracking users who are in fault.
Octopiss
@Tkun: Yeah, thank god Steam isn't going down for weeks over this and Valve isn't being an asshole about disclosing the case. On a side note, Skyrim blows chunks in my book but I still wish people who happen to like it hours of entertainment.

BowlerHatMan

Y'know, I can't say I felt "sad" at Steam getting hacked... until I realized that it meant that Steam-tan was raped. Those filthy hackers just... rummaging inside her for her hashed user info...

Poor Steam-tan.

And it's a single player game.
