I have to say, G4WL is the WORST gaming platform I've ever seen. (Well, potentially the xbox, but I haven't bothered with that one, so I can't say for sure, but it's made by the same company, so I wouldn't be surprised.)
Half the time I have go through a dozen extra hoops to get a G4WL game to work

Merlynn

I has a problem with G4WL simply cause I have to log into it to play a game even though I'm logged into Steam. Even though it doesn't do the infinite patch/crash combo like a Cammy whore,I still can't help but think G4WL is making those games suck.
Nox

@Hugh Jass:
No Bioshock 2 for me either, due to an infinite patch loop or whatever the hell it is. I should probably get around to just crack the shit, but it's such a crying shame given that I at least try to do it the legal way first.

@AverageBob How is it not? You're taking profits away from such companies. I have pirated I admit, but since Steam got their shiz together I bought every game I have. More to fund the developers (Even if it's Activision etc.) than to have a physical copy of the game. and still, Gamespy sucks worse.

GFWL is why I never made it past the first 15 minutes of Bioshock 2. I will buy no game contaminated with it.

I'm in the same bot of GFWL fucking me over. Fallout 3 GOTY it kept making me reinstall the DLC everytime I loaded the game. Once it made me redownload the WHOLE game after telling me I didn't own it. This after putting 40+ hours into it. Then it deleted all my Batman AC saves, yup f GFWL.

On a related note I laugh every time I see an IE commercial on TV. You get it free with your MS OS. Why ads? Is it THAT BAD? Or are people just so prejudiced against any browser from MS they don't even try the newest incarnation? I personally use Firefox because I'm comfortable with Mozilla.

Well, I bought Bioshock 2 on GFWL some years ago. I can't say that I was pleased by this service, but at least it works -_- So, if there no any choice, I'd still buy it. Maybe. Depends of the port quality, will watch it on youtube.

It is not actually confirmed for GFWL. The only reason why they considered it was because they were a "console based" game company. Basically, there's still hope, and shitty service or not, I'm playing Dark Souls.

Not to sound like a dick, but how in the hell would they have gotten it to PC otherwise? Rewritten all the netcode from scratch in only a few monthes.
Don't get me wrong, I detest GfWL, but if its the only way we can get a game, don't knock them for using it. In fact, buy it. So they can make more.
I have... eleven GfWL games, and I have no problem. And i really hyped for Dark Souls for PC (because paying for Gold on Xbox sucks)

GFWL is awful and I've had too many problems with it to ever want to deal with it again. There's a reason why Bethesda switched from it to Steamworks after exactly one game. (Hint: it's the overwhelming superiority of Steamworks as a platform.)

I see a lot of hate on GFWL.. And it seems like I'm the only one not having any problems. And for the people pirating: Go buy it. even If you're going to download without GFWL, you are taking away from the developers. GFWL is easy to make an xbox 360 port.

Compared to Origin, GFWL is a saint. A pretty dumb, limited saint, but still, there's worse ones out there.
Not that I approve of tethering a game to such a platform in the first place - it's just plain unnecessary, and Steam is just about the only platform that has actually benefitted the gamer.

Stupid Microsoft, I can't simply save any progress in BioshocK!
There is a reason for the usage of Games for Windows live in this case though. They're focusing on actually porting the GAME, making it work for the PC. It takes time to change the whole server coding, etc.
Hopefully it won't be TOO bad.
