A hero with a 40% win rate, then, can be viewed as effectively adding NOTHING to their team. Of course, the actual statistics are more complicated than that, but if in a game with 10 players one player's hero choice can shift the statistics by 10% either way... that's HUGE.

In a team game with 5 per team, all else being equal you'd expect a given hero to be contributing roughly 20% to their team's chance of victory (or, to put it another way, each adds 10% to the chance at victory to total 50%).

This is a bit behind the 8-ball, but if you think about the statistics a win rate of ten percent above or below 50 is actually a pretty significant sign of imbalance.

Meepo isn't bad, but it's best not to use him against an AoE-heavy team. And playing Meepo takes too much concentration, that most people are too lazy to even try playing him seriously... :P

The most op heroes atm are Drow Ranger, Silencer, and Centaur. That's the reason you can't pick/ban them in cm. They are all like the new Lycan in All pick.

This exact thing happened to me. When we saw someone pick a Meepo, we thought it was GG for sure. He ended up carrying all our asses.

Last time I played DotA (about a year or so), Morphling was actually top tier, not bad. He had an escape, catch up (waveform), a knockback/stun, super agi or super tanking ability, as well as a unique ultimate.

The thing when I played LoL, there were a lot of champs that were situationally useful or good for a skilled player. This would lead to a lot of scrubs choosing one of those champions in the wrong team make-up, playing the wrong lane, not having enough skill, calling everyone else dumb for losing.

There are no bad heroes in DOTA.

There are only players who can't use them in their proper roles. FFS, you can't use Jakiro as a carry, for example.

Even the worst hero in dota (Morphling right now) has a 40% win rate and most players have a ~50% win rate.

There are tons of heros that are way worse than morphling right now, I have no idea where you get these ideas, pub win rates dont have anything to do with how good a hero is

Meepo isn't a bad hero, I mean there are people who can do really well with him. (Hell I was afraid he would farm so fast he could be able to outfarm our carry, he could practically destroy our supports in less than a second) The issue is, meepo is quite counterable, and VERY vulnerable early game.

Nature's Prophet has fallen through since the more recent buffs. He's still somewhat decent but there are now much better picks. Players have also got really good with Meepo which is great, makes a real nice replay reel.

I'm not a real dota fan (LoL fan) so here's my rage:
if there is a weak champ in a game, it mean the developers are lazy not balancing the game! XD

Just kidding, even in LoL got this issue.
Think it's not how bad or good the champ is, but how derp the player is :D

Don't lean too heavily on winrates as an indicator of balance. If you followed SC2, you'd understand how it easily tilts one way or the other just based off a metagame, or looks wildly different depending on your sample size or demographic. SC2 is in such a rough shape because of that.

I dunno I personally think Nature Prophet is kinda shit but that's just me. I haven't played in a while but when I did neither of them got played like, ever, and I tried playing NP once and didn't like him.
