To be fair, the Assault Fem wears hot pants and nearly half the armor of the Dread/male Assault, but yes, it does baffle why the Engie only has fragments of the softsuit of the Recon. Cides, not much plot yet to admire (in a way, hue)

Hmm. Just went to the Firefall site, and--*almost* accurate. Jo's got it on the wrong side. :-) Though the Assault looks kinda silly--heavily armored *everywhere* except on the upper arms (though they do have armor gloves).

I googled it, and yes, that is accurate... for the girl. The male engineer has twice the pants and sleeves as the female engineer.
