Awesomenauts is different in the way that while you, for the most part, need most of your team to help push, you can function without them, and a lot of people don't farm. You should try it, Jo.

Poor Maiden. Can't ever rely on people to actually help you, even when you're devoted to helping them. Its like playing Medic in TF2, and your pocket suddenly flys off into the skybox, leaving your alone and vulnerable.

Dota is a great game, pretty fun to play, but it has a SERIOUS flaw, It depends on humans cooperating...

The obvious solution is to murder the entire enemy team.

Despite being a Dota comic, this aptly applies to pretty much every Moba out there.

Well, LoL doesn't really have this problem, because the meta is so set in stone it's crazy, but there's a reason why top, mid and jungle get called first almost every game.

I haven't seen too much of that attitude for a while, I was a phantom assassin in a trilane of two supports, farmed like crazy and won the game. Though sometimes, if we have 2 carries, 1 initiator and 1 semi-carry, I take a pure support so somebody buys the wards

Honesly, I like the shitton of focus on other games, but TF2 has gone completely ignored. Can't he just do one comic on the July 10 Mega-Update just to sate the fans? Dota 2's getting really overplayed.

This mentality of leaving a class type behind be it support or otherwise, is found in almost all online games. The idea of variety takes the back seat more often than not. IE GW2 you'll be hard pressed to find a group taking a Necron into dungeons... either your warrior or a thief or gtfo.

You can go Bot (Radiant) or Top (Dire) if you stay away from lane and pull/stack every now and then. Roaming is not the best idea but it can work with heroes like heroes that have more then 1 CC spell (Like Crystal Maiden and Lion).

Aaah, yes. That wonderful "solo" attitude so common in every single online game...gotta love it!

Yay! Finally a post about supports being not used! Thx Jo! I pub a lot , and rarely see anything else than 5 carries together...MAYBE a semi-carry sometimes.
Chivalry and some games didn't let you play until you tried every class, and it should be the same with DotA.(fanservice...weee need moar!)

The solution is to ROAM! Roaming support! Best ganks ever!

This is the time when people goes for themselves, quite sometimes.

What the hell is up with people that want to solo the safelane, anyway? A good support stacking, pulling and making space is a thousand times more efficient than the mere extra exp you get for soling.

Funny enough, I played a game with a Nature's Prophet recently who jungled all the time, even while others were in team fights. Sometimes I do think some people just want to play for themselves and not care about the team.

Crystal Maiden can jungle too and roam while doing so. So make the opponents feel the pain of your roam!

It's like they don't WANT to win...then they blame you for the loss.

@Nerf NOW!!: They can't stop you from denying your creep wave, warding, upgrading courier, or assisting them in ganks.

Support them against their will -- they'll win, but feel violated for winning.

And now you know why some matches in DotA2 are bad (and also probably part of the reason why people bitch about Matchmaking in dev.dota2.com)
