Between post-COVID, lack of new content, and the tarnished reputation, it comes as no surprise Blizzard announced they are "re-imagining" Blizzcon. 

I am unsure if it will come back. I believe Blizzard made some money with the event and even now I believe there won't be a shortage of people willing to go, but it was probably not worth the disruption it caused in the company plans. It was probably a relic of the rockstar culture the new Blizzard is probably trying to distance themselves.
